Brian recieved his PhD from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2006. He is currently studying chromosomal fragmenation and the evolution of micronuclear-limited sequences in ciliates with extensive genome processing.

Sujal started as a PhD student at UH in 2005. She is studying population genetics and mating type evolution in Tetrahymena thermophila and T. americanis
